Life Saver Pipe and Straw(TM)

The Life Saver Pipe and Straw(TM) consists of a hollow tube filled with activated carbon pellets 125 diameter. With holes on either end and a HEPA filter within the mouthpiece, the product can be used for breathing as well as filtering contamination from water for drinking purposes. Activated carbon pellets both adsorbs and absorbs a number of dissolved contaminants such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs) which are gaseous substances like Benzene, toluene, and some chlorinated compounds ie. the carcinogens in cigarette smoke and ash, including carbon monoxide (CO), the tasteless, odorless and colorless killer. The tuberculosis bacillus which transmits TB when inhaled from an infected person and dust and pollen by addition of a HEPA filter within the mouthpiece rounds out the protection. With an 10 OZ tube design, the dwell time is increased when drinking from a pond or stream while filtering out the larva of insects or other germs in stagnant water. This feature will be used to apply for NSFCnational Science Foundation, EPA, Environmental Protection Agency, and NIOSH National Institute of Science Occupational Health SBIR Grants with hoped-for UL Lab assistance by Fire Safety Research Institute workers under my direction as the Corporate entity and Principal Investigator.

– Blow out forcefully 3 puffs to clear carbon dust from pellets

– Breathe in air free of germs, smoke & other pollutants

– Use as a straw to filter drinking water and drink.

Meets EPA Air Quality and Drinking Water Standards.
